Body found in lake near Norman Wells is that of missing man Darren Whiteman

The Chief Coroner of the Northwest Territories has confirmed that a body found last month in Lennie Lake, about 35 kilometres north of Norman Wells, is that of Darren Whiteman.

The 20-year-old man had been reported missing last fall after having last been seen at his family’s cabin on Lennie Lake in September.

Chief coroner Cathy Menard says an autopsy has been completed but a cause of death has yet to be officially confirmed.
