Ducks Unlimited Canada acknowledges importance of Friday’s National Indigenous Peoples Day

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day by reaffirming its commitment to expand its partnerships and relationships with Indigenous Governments and communities, promote conservation and protection in their traditional territories, and build bridges for future collaborative conservation projects.
In a news release, Ducks Unlimited Canada states that it recognizes one day is not sufficient to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding achievements and contributions made by Indigenous peoples to our country.
Ducks Unlimited Canada says it is working hard to create a better understanding of the matters, challenges and concerns facing Indigenous peoples in Canada.
“It’s encouraging to see the positive collaborative work between governments, Indigenous communities, industry, and environmental organizations to create effective boreal management models,” says Barrett Lenoir, DUC manager in the NWT. “We want to see more of these partnerships here in the NWT and across Canada.”
Lenoir adds they value their partnerships and connections with Indigenous communities across the country as they work together to achieve a bright future for the environment and all people.
Ducks Unlimited extends best wishes to the Indigenous communities across Canada in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day.
