Yellowknife RCMP look for woman accused of using fraudulent prescriptions

Mounties in Yellowknife are trying to identify and locate a woman who they allege used fraudulent prescriptions to gain illegal access to medication in local pharmacies.

In a news release, police state that between March 29 and March 31, the woman visited two local pharmacies and used what police believe are fraudulent prescriptions.

They have not said how they came to that conclusion, nor have they identified the type of drugs.

To further the investigation, Yellowknife RCMP is releasing a still photo from the woman taken from a surveillance camera, and is asking the public to help identifying her.

The woman is approximately 5’5″ tall and weighs about 170 pounds.

“It is illegal to alter a drug prescription, or use forgery with the intention of using the document as genuine,” states Staff Sergeant Yannick Hamel, Operations Manager for the Yellowknife Detachment.
