Indigenous voters can hear what Yk-area MLA candidiates have to say about issues affecting them at Dene Nahjo election forum

Indigenous voters in Yellowknife will have a chance to hear what candidates for MLA in the city have to say about issues affecting them at the upcoming Dene Nahjo Election Forum.

According to organizer Dëneze Nakehk’o this important forum will be will be an Indigenous led political discussion highlighting land, language and culture.

The Yellowknife candidates will be divided by constituency and invited to speak on one of the three nights starting Sunday September 22 at the Tree of Peace Friendship Centre downtown.

On Sunday, the forum will feature candidates for Tu Nehde-Wiilideh, Great Slave and Yellowknife North ridings.

On Monday September 23, it will be candidates for Frame Lake, Yellowknife Centre and Range Lake.

And on Tuesday, September 24, it will be for Yellowknife South and Kam Lake candidates.

Dinner will also be provided.

The forum will continue on Monday Sept. 23 and Tuesday Sept 24.

The event gets underway at 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm all three nights.
